Small Town

It is cool when you drop your car off to be worked on and the mechanic says my Dad will take you home. "Calls us at three", he said. We will bring your car to you. I get in a pickup truck and the Dad takes me home. As we are driving I find that he lives across the street from our neighborhood and has lived in that house for 49 years. How cool! Also the Tire Shop has an old TV and cash register just like my Granddaddy Porter had in his old motel. Two brothers and a father owns the business. There are things I like about small towns!

Friday Date Day

Stuart took the day off. We always have so much to do and since I work every other weekend we are only off together 4 days a month. We had car stuff to do, house stuff, and simply just time to hold each others hand. We took off toward Knoxville and shopped for a few clothes for the kids. Stuart and I are so opposite. He walks into a store and we go opposite direction. I start on one section and barely get to the next when he walks up with two things in his hand and states " are you ready to go". He shops on high speed mode it is very funny I am sure to see my facial expressions. I love him though. We went to lunch and when the server put his food in front of him I said he could eat 5 times the amount they gave him. We came home and took a nap together like two old people and now I am off to work a 12 hr shift!

Lake Murray

A Walk to Remember

My sister loves to read and so do I when I have great books. I met my family at the Lake and to find my sister gave me a pile of books. Three books by Nichols Sparks. I love his books even though I sit and cry while I am reading. I read A Walk to Remember in a few short hours while Stuart ran three miles and cut the side yard. That me me feel real active. I was sitting in the den on the last 30 pages where the book started getting sad. I was sitting in the chair and Stuart said "are you reading something sad" acting as if he did not know I had been crying for about ten minutes. He is so funny. He was reading a car magazine and I was reading a story of a young high school couple in love and the girl finds out she is dying. The book goes on to reveal that the boy is deeply in love and seems so more than the girl. What a thought that's why I love Nicholas Sparks books. Also, his picture is on the back of the book and Ashley said "Mom, this picture looks just like Dad. It really did and I just laughed. Thinking to myself that I wish Stuart wrote love stories what a thought. Then this morning I was amazed my 6 year Ashley was sitting in the same chair reading the novel I had just finished and John was sitting in the den floor reading the same car magazine that Stuart had finished. Now they are having potato sack races through the house. John said "Mommy, am I staying at home with you and Ashley". I said yes and he said that he wanted a boy to play with sad puppy eyes.
